1. Primacy of the Holy Quran & Authentic Sunnah
At ProphetsTree, the foundational axiom of our research is the inviolable authority of the Holy Quran as the verbatim, unalterable Word of God, alongside the authentically transmitted Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
Every genealogical linkage, biographical event, and miracle explicitly mentioned in the Quran is treated as immutable historical truth. Where classical exegetes hold minor differences of historical detail (such as exact calendar dates or unmentioned geographical stations), we adhere to the most authoritative majority scholarly view.
2. Treatment of Historical Anecdotes (Al-Isrāʾīliyyāt)
Classical Islamic historians, notably Ibn Jarir al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir, frequently documented regional historical narratives known in the Islamic tradition as Al-Isrāʾīliyyāt (historical accounts preserved among the People of the Scripture). Following the canonical prophetic principle articulated in Sahih al-Bukhari:
"Convey from me even if an ayah, and narrate from the Children of Israel and there is no harm; but whoever intentionally lies upon me, let him take his seat in the Fire."
Our editorial policy adheres strictly to the tripartite scholarly classification of these accounts:
- Affirmed: Accounts corroborated by the Quran or authentic Hadith are accepted as verified.
- Contradicted: Accounts that conflict with Quranic theology, the sinlessness and dignity of the prophets (ʿIṣmat al-Anbiyāʾ), or divine justice are categorically rejected.
- Neutral/Silent: Harmless historical minutiae (such as names of minor companions or physical measurements) that neither contradict nor confirm Islamic scripture are treated purely as historical context without dogmatic belief.
3. Aniconic Visual Representation Policy
In strict adherence to Islamic consensus regarding the supreme reverence and sanctity of the Prophets of God, ProphetsTree maintains a 100% aniconic design policy.
We never depict, display, or generate pictorial, facial, or figurative illustrations of any Prophet, Messenger, or noble Angel. All genealogical cards, visual representations, and diagrams on our platform are expressed exclusively through sacred Arabic typography, elegant geometric cards, verified transliterations, and architectural ornaments.
4. The 25 Mentioned Prophets in the Quran
Islamic theology affirms that Allah sent messengers to every human nation throughout history ("And for every nation there is a messenger" — Surah Yunus 10:47). Classical hadith literature indicates that tens of thousands of prophets guided humanity across epochs.
ProphetsTree specifically maps the twenty-five canonical prophets whose names are explicitly sanctified within the text of the Holy Quran, alongside immediate Quranic family members (such as Hawwa, Sarah, Hajar, and the noble wives and caliphs of the Prophet).
